I don’t think this 4-pack really has a good name. The one of Cliffjumper getting DEMOLISHED by Squeezeplay, Tarantulas, & Tarn
CONTENT WARNING FOR ARACHNOPHOBES!!!
Gonna give my opinions. UPFRONT WARNING: I love everything, I am such a positive person, so maybe don’t use this as a buying guide because it could be skewing positive. I’ve never had any of these moulds before so this is completely fresh for me

First up, let’s talk about Tarantulas! His colours are based off of the prototype for his original Beast Wars figure, his head is based on his original toy’s non-mutant head, and his head’s colours are based on… *checks tfwiki*… his Beast Wars 10th Anniversary figure? I don’t really see it. He feels nice to hold and I like his look (in person his head feels kinda too big? Sometimes? But that’s the only visual issue I have)

He comes with a buzzsaw and his weird gun thing but it doesn’t fire, like his original toy, it’s just a static prop. Which I’m totally fine with, I’m not really one for those kinds of play-oriented gimmicks

Now, the gun-thing has a 5mm port on the back… and the buzzsaw has a 5mm peg on the back… and his hands can fit both handles when pegged together… But when holding it he can’t bend his elbow! So he looks like some stiff old 80s toy. Ah well, it’s not like this combined weapon is of critical importance. (Is it? I actually haven’t watched Beast Wars yet ._.)

Now, his alt mode… WOW it looks great. I love tarantulas and this looks like a tarantula. I didn’t really think his hands would make very convincing pedipalps but they work just fine for me. But since his legs only have 1 point of articulation in the middle, and none at all at the base, you can’t really pose him doing anything other than just sitting there but… c’mon… have you ever seen a spider? That’s all they do. Especially tarantulas. His buzzsaw stores on the bottom and his gun-thing stores in his ass

I LOVE how his kneepads make the spinneretes! (it really feels like that word should have 2 t’s) It looks friggin awesome!!! (maybe I’m going spider autism mode)

Kind of a shame the weapon storage covers it up, but it works because, you know, it used to be a firing gun with a thread attached to the projectile and it’s cool that that goes where the thread would actually come out of a real spider but now that it doesn’t do that it’s (slightly) less cool. Still a part of his look and still weapon storage! I love weapon storage

Next up, TARN!!! He’s so fucking cool looking, man. I especially like his legs for some reason. He’s quite posable, nice and hefty, and I like the Cyberverse colours. As you can see in the below image, idk if this is just my copy, but his right arm’s transformation joint that, like, bends inwards just below the treads there, can’t support the weight of his tank turret attached to his arm. But that’s a minor problem.

One of the cool things about this figure is just how much he can do! you can mix and match his accessories however you think is cool. The instructions show you how to put his turret on his back and it’s AWESOME.

I like the sword being included even though Tarn hasn’t ever had a sword? (I haven’t read the IDW comics or watched Cyberverse yet either ._.) But, you know, they gave it to Bludgeon and I guess they saw no reason to take it away

But, you know, as awesome as his accessories are, the figure is STILL AWESOME WITHOUT THEM!!! He still looks so powerful and evil and imposing without his big fuck you tank turret

Transformation is fine, it is a little hard to get the legs into position with those double knees and especially hard to do it while keeping the arms pegged to the legs. Also the chest turning around and the head flipping in and pegging into the chest and all while rotating the innermost tread pieces is kinda a little tiny bit of friction on the experience, the transformation is well worth it

His tank mode looks awesome and powerful and sharp and angry and like it’s designed exclusively for killing. I didn’t see where to store the sword in the instructions, I think they just left that out so I just store it on the side. Clearly he’s meant to go without but, you know, I gotta put it somewhere

Now, as in robot mode, I still like how much you can do with the accessories! Obviously you’re meant to just leave it as it is but you don’t have to at all. You can do whatever. Wish it was a single barrel? BAM!

Think it’d look better flat with the barrels on the side? WHAM!

And, just like in robot mode, wanna see him with no accessories? Still looks cool!!

Next, Cliffjumper. I like how he looks. Not really accurate but who cares, plenty of Transformers Prime figures in Legacy have looked inaccurate and they’ll get updated eventually. So who cares if it’s inaccurate for now if it also looks good. His face feels a little too flat and his neck feels a little too thick, even though that was what he looked like in the show. A minor gripe though

His accessories are… weird. Like, yeah, they’re just carried over from chase but… they’re just carried over from chase. The claw feels really random but I dunno if Cliffjumper had any weapons in the show (I… actually I have watched Prime! It premiered 14 years ago though so I don’t remember) I guess anything is better than nothing

Like with Tarn I feel like you can mix-and-match the accessories a lot, probably due a lot to them all being made up, so there’s no “right way” but it just feels less interesting than Tarn. I tend to just attach them all into one big glob and stick it on his back out of the way

Now if you were thinking “Hey, where’s that typical reeeraaaw positivity?” The answer is: right here. ho. ly. FUCK this car looks great. Yeah, transformation is kinda iffy trying to fold in those little wing things on his back into place and one of his headlight pieces sometimes falls off in the process but it’s just! So! COOL!!! It looks so powerful and solid and. This is a muscle car, right? It fucking looks like it. It looks like the word “muscle” was turned into a car

But then, those weird ass accessories come in and kinda mess it up. If you wanna store them, there is no way to make it look natural

Lastly is Squeezeplay! First things first, despite the name, there is nothing on him to squeeze. I like his proportions, I like his cute little face, I like his in-hand feeling (especially his shins? They just feel AMAZING somehow). His shoulders feel a little loose and his biceps feel too tight, but it’s not a dealbreaker.

I’ve not had Headmaster before and it’s pretty cool. Obviously Lokos doesn’t have a lot of poseability but are you really gonna try to get dynamic poses out of a wee guy like that?

His alt mode. Weird little snake-crab-goblin. I like how silly it is, but also, I don’t like how silly it is. Doesn’t help that I feel like his arms are a bitch to pose. Still leaning more positive because he’s just a little cutie!

Sitting Lokos in his tummy is a fun little thing to do, that’s just awesome

And, I like his little tail, I think it’s cute. (until you store the gun on it)

So! That wraps it up! I quite like this 4 pack, it’s enjoyable 🙂
Bye-bye!
